Class of 2008

Thursday, April 17th, Jason Appleby from Machias Savings Bank talked with the Senior class members about personal banking. They discussed credit cards, how to build up credit scores and the pitfalls of charging more than one can afford. They also talked about online banking, online shopping, checking accounts, debit cards, and cash cards. Students had the opportunity to ask many pertinent questions.

The same day, Danielle Caricofe, also from Machias Savings Bank held mock professional interviews with the Senior class members. After each interview, she critiqued each of the students and gave them feedback so they could use the information in the future. She also spoke to the class as a whole about professionalism on the job.

Friday, April 18th, Betty Case, Registrar of Voters/Town Office Clerk, talked with Seniors and Juniors about Town Government and voting policies for Local, State and National elections. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn a great deal about voting. All eligible students completed voter registration cards and are on their way to one of their first rights as an adult!
