U.S. News & World Report (Dec. 11, 2007) in collaboration with School Evaluation Services analyzed data from 18,790 public high schools to find the very best across the entire nation.” These top schools were placed into gold, silver, or bronze medal categories. Maine has 13 such high schools: 1 gold, 4 silver, 8 bronze. Lubec is one of the latter. Click here:

The first step ensured that the schools serve all of their students well...reading and math test results for all students on each state’s high school test...The final step: college-readiness performance, using Advanced Placement data as the benchmark for success.
